New Facilities for 2011

This is a project that has been in the pipeline for a long time; we are delighted with the result, and hope all our visitors will enjoy the benefits of these improvements. We now have one large room housing the launderette, dishwash and information/rest room – all of which were previously in three separate areas. This new facility is accessed from a lobby through a red outside door directly opposite the Main Office. The Caravan Park showers and toilets can also be accessed from this lobby.
The single large room with under-floor heating also provides a small kitchen area, internet access and has a playpen for small children. Although this facility is provided at the Caravan Park end, it is for the use of all Visitors on the Park.

The Laundrette:

Two large washing machines are coin operated, £3.00 per wash. One of the washing machines can be utilized just for a rinse/spin cycle, £1.00. There are two tumble driers, and a full wash would cost about £1.00 to £1.20 to dry. We provide laundry baskets, an ironing board and coin operated iron. There is a double sink for hand washing and an outside drying area.

Dishwash:

Two double drainer sinks, and the kitchen sink can be used for dishwashing. Small containers are provided for food waste and compostable waste.

Kitchen:

This area has a commercial microwave, electric kettle, toaster and small fridge. There is no cooker, but there is an induction hob, and appropriate pans are available. The small fridge should only be used as a stop gap, and if you leave food in the fridge, it must be labeled with your name and either pitch number or booking reference number. You can eat your food at the breakfast bar or sit at the table in the small conservatory area, specially designed so that the windows look across the Caravan Park to the sea.

Phone charging bank:

There is a bank of  five lockers, each locker has a three pin socket. Just place your phone in the locker, plug in and place a £1 coin in the door.  When closed the door can be locked and key removed.  Unlocking the door with the key will return your coin. (Just like swimming pool lockers but a lot smaller!)

Internet facility:

To use this facility – either the computer provided or your own lap top – you will need a voucher from the office. A half hour voucher can be purchased for £1.00.

Rest Area and information:

Here we have a play pen for small children – the theme is Jack and the Beanstalk. Ros Evans is an artist who each year paints a landscape scene for our calendar, and was asked to paint this mural. Look for Jack, and look for the beanstalk climbing high up the rafters to end in the Giant’s castle.
Please note this facility should only be used if the parent is in the room, children should never be left here.
Easy chairs and coffee tables, a shelf of tourist information and reading material finishes off the room.
