The Park is open from the first of March to the second week of November for touring caravans, tents and motor homes.
There are nine static caravans for hire. Dogs are allowed on site but must be kept on a lead at all times, however, during the school summer holiday period (Saturday 16th July to Wed 1st September 2011) the tent fields are dog free areas, i.e. tents and Motor Homes in fields 2 and 3 should not have dogs. Normally dogs would be exercised off site – on the adjacent cliff path walk, but there is a small dog walk area next to the Park entrance which is handy for the emergency or short morning exercise!
Caravan field complex: situated at the top of the caravan field, is the Park Office (where you can also buy bottled gas, post cards etc.) and adjacent disabled toilet/shower. For 2011 we have a new amenity building which is decribed on the next page. A separate block with telephone kiosk, grey and chemical waste cubicles, unisex toilets and wet suit wash is immediately opposite. Outside are the grey and chemical dump stations for motor homes.
Tent field complex (between the caravan field and first tent field): Men’s and ladies toilet/shower block, dishwash room, and wet suit wash room. Also family amenity units – two of which have small baths/shower, baby changers, basin and toilet, – and two with shower, basin and toilet.
Since 2001 we have had some disabled facilities installed on the Park. These include ramps up to the site office and a purpose built shower/toilet facility. The whole of the Park has panoramic sea views. Although the Park cannot cater for disabled groups, individuals or families with a disabled member or members are welcomed.
Unfortunately Caerfai beach itself is not accessible for wheelchairs, however there are some local places such as Whitesands, which is a popular and accessible beach that sees a lot of activity during the summer. At Abereiddy a few miles further north there is a wheelchair friendly coastal path that starts from the beach car park.
For Visitors with disabilities who are looking to explore the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline there are a few options. Pembrokeshire Coastal Bus Services are designed for tourists to access the Pembrokeshire Coast National Trail without having to use a car. The ‘Celtic Coaster’ bus service takes you to the St Davids Peninsula. The bus runs on LPG-an environmentally friendly fuel-and can carry wheelchairs. The 14-seater minibus runs from St Davids to Porth Clais, St Justinians and Whitesands, enabling you to see the peninsula, catch the boat trips to Ramsey Island or enjoy a day on the beach.
