Frequently Asked Questions

Q. WHEN DO YOU OPEN?
We open on 22nd March 2024 and close on 3rd November 2024 for caravans, motorhomes, campervans and tents.

Q. WHEN CAN I BOOK?
We accept bookings over the phone all year round. Online bookings can be made for the current year. The office is open Monday to Friday 9am-4pm throughout the year; and Saturdays and Sunday mornings during the season.

Q. DO I NEED TO BOOK?
Advance booking is advised to avoid disappointment, particularly for weekends, bank holidays and school holidays. We tend to have more availability in the low and mid seasons, when we can usually accommodate visitors at short notice.

Q. DO YOU ACCEPT DOGS?
Yes, dogs are allowed in the caravan field and in the dog-friendly area of the campsite. There is a dog walking area and we ask that all dogs are kept on short leads when on site. Dogs are allowed on Caerfai beach all year round, but should be kept on a lead.

There is a dog free area in the camping field.

Q. CAN I REQUEST A SPECIFIC PITCH?
We do try to reserve pitches based on customer preference but we cannot guarantee that the pitch requested is the pitch allocated. If you are in a group, let us know beforehand so we can try our best to allocate you together.

Q. CAN I CHOOSE MY PITCH ON ARRIVAL?
Pitches are allocated at the time of booking; we do not operate on a first come first choice basis, however, if when you arrive your preferred pitch has not already been booked, we may be able to allocate that pitch to you. We do try to offer different pitches, but this is only possible during quieter periods.

Q. WHAT ARE THE ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES?
Touring and camping pitches are available from 3pm and must be vacated by 11am. No arrivals later than 9pm. If guests would like to arrive earlier/depart later these requests need to be discussed with a staff member. Arrivals between office closing and up to 9pm should check the board alongside the office door and collect their envelope.

Q. WHAT DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED?
Short stay bookings of up to four nights are payable in full when booking. For stays of five nights or longer a £30 per week deposit is required (e.g. £60 for a stay of 8 nights). The deposit is paid in full at the time of booking and is not refundable.

Q. AM I ENTITLED TO A REFUND IF I HAVE TO CANCEL MY BOOKING?

For safety reasons, no open fires are allowed. Check weather forecast and wind direction before using.  Charcoal-only barbecues. In order not to burn the grass, BBQs must be 2 foot off the ground, we have BBQ stands free to hire. We also allow small fire pits (charcoal only, no logs), but these must not affect the grass and be kept under control. We often have paving slabs available to place under manufactured fire pits.
